The NHL Department of Player Safety offered Philadelphia Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo an in-person hearing late Tuesday night after his controversial hit on Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Kris Letang. Late Wednesday, Rinaldos agent, Todd Reynolds said his client has waived the right to appear. The hearing, which will take place over the phone on Monday at 12:30pm et, is still considered in-person, meaning the NHL retains the option to asses a suspension of six games or more. Rinaldo hit Letang into the boards from behind late in the first period and was given a five-minute major as well as a game misconduct.
